Cut/Copy/Paste

The Cut, Copy, and Paste commands allow you to transfer text, data or objects within the .REQ file.

Note:
  • Use the Content Reference option to link content so that changes on the source document appear on the destination document.
  • During a paste command, a validation check is performed against the schema. This ensures the content is valid in the pasted location.

Pasting content

Within Outline Editor, you can use the Paste feature to paste content previously placed in the Clipboard to the location of your choosing.
Note:
  • After pasting content, you can undo your change using the Undo feature (Ctrl+Z or Edit > Undo).
  • Schema validation exists for content being pasted to another location.
  • When right-clicking an element in Outline Editor, the Paste / Ctrl+V context menu command is enabled if there are elements copied to the Clipboard and if any of those elements are valid children of the selected element. If all elements in the Clipboard are not valid for insertion, the Paste / Ctrl+V command is disabled.
