Content Errors

The Content Errors window provides a listing of errors and PTR schema warnings returned by the system as a result of the document assembly processing. When a document is submitted for assembly using any of the three assembly options (Build, Execute Document, or Execute Package Rules), any system errors or PTR schema warnings are returned in the Content Errors or Build Errors view. The reported errors include fatal errors that prevented document assembly, warnings, and PTR schema warnings on thedocument assembled.

The Content Errors window is split into two separate sections. The first section displays any errors on the document, while the second section displays any existing PTR schema warnings. Inside each section there is a Description that describes the error or warning. Double-clicking the warning or error displays the appropriate tab with the discrepancy location in focus.

You should review the error list to identify the data item or condition causing the error and resolve it. These errors are typically caused by things such as invalid enumerations, missing or uneven numbers of brackets ([]) or parenthesis (()) or missing characters in schema paths. However, any type of error in a PTR can cause issues, so using the error list report is imperative to being able to execute documents. Before a document can be considered complete, the errors must be resolved from both lists.

The view window is available by selecting:
  • the Content Errors tab at the bottom of the window

  • Content Errors from the View > Other Windows menu
  • selecting Content Errors in the Other Windows list from the standard toolbar.

The window is available for dynamic and static documents. This is an example of the content errors window for a dynamic requirements file.

Selecting an item in the PTR Schema Warnings list displays the associated PTR within the Field Grid tab.
