What is a Profile?

What is a Profile and how do you use it?

At the heart of PubAssist is the concept of working with profiles. Profiles allow you to quickly create and easily access the content you need to publish, and to the desired InfoDev server. For example, if you have a Release Note document that you need to host on the staging server for review, and later publish to the production server for public consumption, you can create a profile that consists of :
  • Profile Name: A name for you to identify the documentation
  • Source Location: the location of the transformed content
  • Server folder: The folder on the InfoDev servers in which the content will reside
  • Oxygen Project: The location and name of the Oxygen project file. This is used for quick access to the project in Oxygen and is optional.
  • DITAMap: The location and name of the Oxygen ditamap file. This is used for quickly opening the ditamap in Oxygen and is optional.

This profile remains in the Profile list and is available for quick access every time you run PubAssist.

Profiles can be easily created, edited and deleted all from the Main window.
