Copying Packages

Packages may be copied from one Content Source Alias to another. Copying the existing package saves setup time as it allows you to simply review the copied package and make adjustments as needed, rather than re-creating the package from scratch with each content release.
Note: Packages can be copied only to a different Content Source Alias that contains the same Line of Business and Package Name as the existing package, and when the Line of Business/Package Name does not already exist for the alias you are attempting to copy to.

To Copy A Package

  1. On the Package List page, click Copy Package.
  2. On the Copy Package page, specify the From Content Alias and the To Content Alias.
  3. Based on which Content Source Alias you are copying from, a list of available Packages displays. Select which packages you wish to copy to the specified Content Source Alias.
  4. Click Copy.
Note: If documents no longer exist within the new Expere content, a warning message displays before the copy process begins to inform you that some documents in the package are no longer available in the new content. The warning message does not prevent the copy, and you are able to dismiss the warning and continue with the copy.
Note: Also, when copying packages, the copy process cleans up the document list and removes any documents from the copied packages and packets if those documents no longer exisit within the new Expere content. If any documents no longer exist, a message displays for the copied package indicating that document(s) were not available and to review the Content Release Notes for additional details.

Working with Copy Packages List

The list of packages can be sorted by the column headings to help group packages more effectively.

The Messages column is used to display informational messages when a package cannot be copied. Refer to Copy Package: Message Details for additional information about specific messages.
