Content Source Alias

The Content Source Alias (aka Original Value or Short Name) is an abbreviated name path that can be created and used in Expere Document Services requests rather than understanding/requesting the Destination (Long) naming convention used during processing. When a Content Source Library is deployed, a unique name is associated with the library. An alias can be created for the library that specifies the abbreviated Original Value (Short Name) and the Destination (Long) Name. This allows the calling application to use a consistent name and that name is redirected through the alias to the actual library without requiring the calling application to know the destination name when requesting documents.

Rule Source

The Rule Source defines which package rules (also referred to as autoselection rules) to use when processing the rule logic to determine if the document should be selected for a given transaction. The data supplied in the transaction request is used to determine if the rule source logic is met to select the document. One or multiple rule sources can be selected for a given document, and the document will generate only once, provided the transaction data satisfies the rule logic for as least one rule source.
