Use select to select items on a user interface including:
  • A button
  • A check box
  • A value from a list box
  • Text that opens a link.
  • An item on a menu or shortcut menu.
  • Keys and keyboard shortcuts.

Do not use click, pick, choose, or highlight.

Correct examples
  • On the Dashboard, select Transaction.
  • To access the Tasks Grid, select
  • Select F5.
  • Select HMDA Applies.
  • Select the document and Delete.
Incorrect examples
  • Choose the HMDA Applies option.
  • Click the Delete button.
  • Highlight the document and select delete.
