New to InfoDev Style Guide?
As a global leader in information services and solutions for professionals in the health, tax and accounting, risk and compliance, finance and legal sectors, we help our customers make critical decisions every day. The Wolters Kluwer brand is an important asset in driving awareness and supporting future growth of the organization.
It is to this end that the Information Development team (InfoDev) strives for excellence in the application documentation available to our valued customers. Our goal is clarity, efficiency, accuracy and consistency across all InfoDev documentation.
Purpose of the InfoDev Style Guide
Style guidelines help to make our products and services easier to understand and easier to use by presenting not only technically accurate information, but also conveying trustworthiness and understanding. Style isn't just what we say; it's how we say it.
The InfoDev Style Guide provides valuable information for authors and content providers to achieve consistent styling and voicing across documentation. In standardizing the creation and maintenance of our content, we can provide our customers with an identifiable level of professionalism and value they can expect from Wolters Kluwer
Accountability and References
While the intent is to give this document the authority of "having the last word" where styling and grammar are concerned, this document is a work in progress. The InfoDev Style Guide is also intended to be updated as changes in industry and company standards occur.
The Information Development team consists of technical documentation specialists that for many years have formulated a loose set of standards based on leaders in the industry standards. Namely, Microsoft Manual of Style for application and web presentation styling, and The Chicago Manual of Style for "house style" (consistent forms of captilization, puncuation, hyphenation, etc) rulings where non interface elements are concerned.
The InfoDev Style Guide provides official team-approved and team maintained standards. Modifications and updates to this document shall be implemented through the approval of the Information Development team. For more information on submitting a suggestion, refer to Contact the Information Development team.
