- The Import Default Data Details page provides the details for the selected import,
including Content Source Alias, Line of Business, Content Validation, and Status
information. This page provides the import details and allows you to select which
data items to include in the import. The specific import details with the following
information are also included: Type, Name, Policy Type, and Messages columns, which
may be used to sort the list. Use the checkbox field to indicate when to include a
data item within the imported data.
Note: This page displays any combination of
Product, Policy, and Organization data items. Note that only Policy data
includes a Policy Type category.
- When importing Product data, the import includes the associated policy relationships
and applicabilities.
- If the Product already exists, the details are overriden with the value from
the import.
- If a relationship between the Product and the Policy does not yet exist, the
relationship and applicabilities are added to the product upon import.
- If a Policy or applicability is not specified in the import file, the policy
relationship and/or applicability is removed from the Product upon import.
- Policies and applicabilities can be changed or updated after import.
- If the product you are importing is linked to a policy that no longer
exists, the program displays the following message: Policies Do Not Exist -
Cannot Import.
Note: If the Product in the export file is linked to a Policy,
the data within the export file contains only the relationship of the
Product to the Policy and not the Policy itself. Therefore, if the
Policy does not exist on the environment into which you are importing
the Product, the import cannot be completed. Remove these Products
before completing the import.
- Click Import to import the selected data items. A popup window displays a "Do
You Want To Proceed?" message. The popup window indicates the number of items, if
any, that will be overwritten if you proceed. Click Yes to begin the import.
Click No to return to the Import Details page.
Note: If you import a data
item (Organization, Policy, or Product) with an existing name, line of business,
and alias combination, those data items are overwritten when you select
Yes. The Import Details page includes a message in the Message column
to identify which items have been overwritten.
- If the import is successful, the Import Details page updates to indicate that the
import is successful and has completed. A green banner temporarily displays across
the top of the page to indicate the import is successful. The Content Validation
column displays a value of Passed, and the Status column displays as Complete. If
any data items were overwritten by the import process, a message in the Messages
column indicates which data items have been overwritten. Click Close to
return to the Import Activity List page.
- If the content validation fails, meaning, the content within the import is not
identical to the content within the Content Source Alias, the Import Details page
displays a Failed status in the Content Validation column and a Failed status in the
Status column. Click Close to return to the Import List page.
Note: To resolve
the failed validation, verify that you have selected the correct Content Source
Alias and/or verify with the person deploying your content to ensure you have
selected the correct Content Source Alias for export and import.
