Toolbars

Requirements Editor provides a standard toolbar and additional toolbars specific to features available to you based on the Requirements Editor edition and advanced features you have installed.
Note:
  • You can move indivdual toolbars to customize their location by dragging them using their handles.

  • Toolbars are always visible and cannot be closed or hidden.
The following table describes each tool within the toolbars.

Tool Description
Standard Toolbar

Save: Saves the active document. This button is enabled only if there have been changes to the active document.

Save All: Saves all opened documents that have beem modified.

Cut: Copies the selected item to the clipboard and removes it from its current location.

Copy: Copies the selected item to the clipboard. This is disabled if the schema does not allow the clipboard contents to exist in the editing cursor location.

Paste: Pastes the contents of the clipboard to the location of the editing cursor. This is disabled if the schema does not allow the clipboard contents to exist in the editing cursor location.

Delete: Deletes the selected item.

Undo: Reverses your most recent change back to its original state.

Redo: Recreates an action that was undone by the Undo function.

Windows: Allows you to display or hide any of the available View Windows.

Content Reference

Only available for dynamic documents
Previous Content Reference: Allows you to move the selection to the previous content reference within the document.

Next Content Reference: Allows you to move the selection to the next content reference within the document.

Rendition

The Rendition toolbar isn't visible by default within Requirements Editor. It's only available when a requirements file has profiles.

Active Instance: Allows you to select a predefined profile (Instance)

Clear: Clears the Outline Editor of all content filtered by the selected Instance.

Edit Instances: Displays the Edit Profiles dialog box, allowing you to create and maintain profiles for filtering content within the Outline Editor.

Note: The Rendition toolbar is available only to internal customers.
Web Services

Project: Displays the active Web Service, and allows you to change to any of the projects configured within the Authoring Web Services. For more information, refer to Authoring Web Services.

Branch: Displays the active Web Services branch within the configured Project. For more information, refer to Authoring Web Services.

Web Service Indicator: Enables/Disables and indicates the status of the selected Web Service.

Open (Globe icon): Displays the selected Web Service within your default browser.
