OPPSA Data Items Set to False

Note: Due to the logic in which EZ Config Default Data data points are captured verses the logic in which data is collected within OPPSA, there may be certain scenarios in which the OPPSA Conversion process can not successfully transfer data into EZ Config Default Data policies.

The following data items have been identified as potential data items affected by this conditional conversion. If the value in OPPSA or the data item is set to Yes, the items are expected to convert. But if the value in OPPSA is set to False, OPPSA does not save the value and thus the value is not converted to EZ Config Default Data.

In those instances where the value does not convert to EZ Config Default Data, you have to manually update the EZ Config Default Data policy.

State Variations and Customizations

Note: The OPPSA to EZ Config Default Data conversion process has rules that it follows for situation in which state variations and customized language come into play.

When state variations are identical in OPPSA and EZ Config Default Data: If the state variations are identical, customization from OPPSA are expected to transfer into EZ Config Default Data.
When state variations are not identical between OPPSA and EZ Config Default Data: If the state variations for a data point do not match, some of the customization may appear after the conversion process and some may not.
- Individual states: For individual states with customizations in OPPSA where the same individual state exists in EZ Config Default Data, the customization appears in EZ Config Default Data.
- Groups of states: For state groupings where OPPSA is identical to list of states in EZ Config Default Data, the customization appears in EZ Config Default Data. If no identical match is found, the customization does not appear in EZ Config Default Data after the conversion. For example, if OPPSA has a customization for MN, NV, and OH as one grouping and EZ Config Default Data has only MN and OH in the state grouping, the customization does not appear in EZ Config Default Data. You will need to review and manually enter any customizations needed within EZ Config Default Data.
- ‘Except’ state groupings: if the ‘except’ state grouping between OPPSA and EZ Config Default Data does NOT match, the customization WILL appear in EZ Config Default Data.

Specifically, the Funds Availability Policy, Terms and Conditions Policy, and Privacy Policy are likely to contain state-specific options and customizations.

In ALL scenarios, you should review state specific customizations in EZ Config Default Data to ensure the customizations and data are accurate.

In OPPSA, these two data points have logic related to Alaska and Hawaii. In EZ Config Default Data, there is no logic specific to Alaska and Hawaii, so the conversion logic does not find a match.

Terms and Conditions

There are multiple example in the Terms and Conditions in which there are state variations in OPPSA that do NOT match what is in EZ Config Default Data. The reason why they are different is that EZ Config Default Data has been updated to accommodate most recent regulations.

Some of the sections affected include:

Agreement Section: Maine, Nevada, and Rhode Island are all new individual states with customization options. If you do business in any of these states, you should review if you desire to create customized language. All individual state customizations should convert over. You may want to review the customized language just in case any Wolters Kluwer default language changed with the latest upgrade. OPPSA looked like this:
EZ Config Default Data will look something like this for states that are NEW customized states or were not customized in OPPSA.
Deposits Section: In OPPSA, this section had New Mexico and Not New Mexico customized language. In EZ Config Default Data, there is New Mexico, AK_CT_IA_IN_KS_MI_MN_MO_ND_NV_TN_VA_WI, and Not NM_AK_CT_IA_IN_KS_MI_MN_MO_ND_NV_TN_VA_WI. (‘_’ being equivalent to ‘or’, meaning the same value for that complete set of states). If New Mexico and the NOT New Mexico will convert over to EZ Config Default Data, but logic in the conversion leaves AK_CT_IA_IN_KS_MI_MN_MO_ND_NV_TN_VA_WI customization blank and proprietary language will be used for those states.
