President Bush signed the USA PATRIOT Act into law on October 26, 2001. Title III of the USA PATRIOT Act amends a number of provisions in the Bank Secrecy Act. We describe the more important amendments below. The citations refer to sections in the Act rather than citations to the U.S. Code.
