Assigning an Owner

Overview

The person who created and shared a view is the owner of the view until the owner is deactivated or removed from the system (e.g. leaves the organization). After the owner is deactivated or removed from the system, the view will be available with 'No Owner' after the title. Any user who has received the shared view can assign a new owner to maintain and share the view.

Assigning an Owner to the Shared View without an Owner

  1. Select the shared view with the No Owner at the end of the title in the Views list.
    Note: The Assign owner action displays in the list after selecting the view.
  2. Select Assign owner in the Views list. Select an owner and Assign.
Note:
  • Use the Search function to quickly find a specific user.
  • Only users with the Share Views permission assigned in Security Administration will display in the list.
  • The view maintains all previous settings.
  • All users of the shared view will see the new owner listed in the view title in the Views list.
  • If the original owner is re-activated or added back to the system, the owner will be reinstated as an owner of the shared view along with the current owner.
