Montana (Montana Code Ann.)

All financial institutions are authorized to offer joint with survivorship and pay-on-death (POD) accounts pursuant to Section 72-6-201 et seq. It appears that all institutions can also offer trust accounts, but Section 72-6-201 includes them within the definition of POD accounts and would treat them as a POD account. Section 72-6-204 also provides model language only for POD accounts. Authority for credit unions to offer trust accounts can be found at Section 32-3-506.
