Sharing Custom Views

Users with the 'Share Views' permission assigned in Security Administration can share their custom dashboard views with other users or roles. The 'Share Views' permission has been added to the Manage Vanceo default role for new accounts. Existing users will need to have this permission assigned to enable sharing. The users who create the views are considered owners of those views. Owners can modify the views (change filters, rename, or delete the view), and all recipients receive those changes. Any recipient with the sharing permission can also share those views further with others, but only owners can modify, rename, or delete shared views.

Sharing dashboard views provide the following benefits:

  • Managers and supervisors can create custom views for their groups or departments and share the views with their team members so everyone is looking at the data consistently. Also, managers can modify the shared views once, and the changes are available for all the recipients.
  • If task assignees find specific customized personal views or shared views beneficial, they can share those with others in similar job function so everyone can benefit. The views do not need to be recreated multiple times.
