2026 Release Three (3) Expere Engine and Tools Changelog
Expere Engine Release: 2026 Release Three (3)External release date is X 2026. Expere Engine build number is: 2026.3.X.XXXX.
Note: Users may notice that the 2026.3 Expere Engine release contains
updates that reference the eOriginal SmartSign®+ solution. The Expere Engine
is used to support both our Hosted and Self-Hosted ("On-Prem") customers, however, the
updates made to support SmartSign®+ were implemented solely for our Hosted
customers at this time but have Engine changes that Self-Hosted users will notice. See
Changelog entries below for more information.
| Expere: Packet-level barcode cover sheet generation with total page count |
|---|
|
| Summary: The Expere Engine has been updated to generate barcode cover sheets as the first document in output packets, with packet-level metadata (including total page count) encoded in the barcode, and customizable barcode patterns. |
|
Impact: With this new barcode cover sheet, users can now prepend a
customizable barcode cover sheet to packets, with support for automation of
scanning and indexing processes. Cover sheet generation logic applies only to
documents produced by the Expere Engine and adheres to existing configuration
and naming conventions. Note: This REQ is available for
inclusion in your content library; contact your Professional Services
representative for more information. |
| Expere SmartSign Plus® integration: Package Email Template Selection Added |
|---|
|
| Summary: You can now specify an email template through the use of a new /Txn/EOriginalSSPlusEmailTemplateID XPath; this allows you to designate the SmartSign Plus email template by unique ID during package setup in Expere. |
| Impact: This enhancement provides more flexible and targeted communication by letting you select which SmartSign Plus email template is used for each package delivery. |
| Expere: Document-level ancillary output mappings updated for barcodes and watermarks |
|---|
|
| Summary: Document-level ancillary output mappings in Expere Engine were updated, enabling users to generate documents with Barcode or Watermark options using a generate request template in Document Generation Services. Mappings also support eSignature, field support, logos, and other ancillary outputs. |
| Impact: You can now request documents via Document Generation Services with ancillary outputs (barcodes, watermarks, eSignatures, logos, etc.) accurately rendered per template configuration. |
| Expere Engine: Discrete Party Resolution from Signature Points Without eSignatureAndFieldSupport |
|---|
|
| Summary: The Expere Engine was updated to resolve and provide discrete party information from signature point sets even when eSignatureAndFieldSupport is not selected. If Signer ID is missing or discrete party info cannot be fully resolved, a warning is logged and returned without generating errors. |
| Impact: You may now generate party identification when eSignatureAndFieldSupport is not passed. Log files may include warnings instead of errors for incomplete party resolution; duplicate discrete party IDs may appear if Signer ID is omitted. |
| Expere Engine: Fee descriptions consolidated for RegE Overdraft Opt-in Notice |
|---|
|
| Summary: Singular, account-specific fee descriptions only appear once in RegE Overdraft Opt-in Notice PDFs when submitting transactions with multiple accounts and combined Default Data products. |
| Impact: You will see only one fee description per account in documents generated from merged Expere transactions, eliminating confusion and inaccuracies for account holders. Document language accurately matches account-specific criteria. |
| Expere Engine: Limits and Fees Policy Fee Data Merge Consistency |
|---|
|
| Summary: The Limits and Fees policy merge has been enhanced so that when submitting transactions with multiple accounts (e.g., checking and savings) and fee details, duplicate fee data no longer appears in the Limits And Fees Disclosure document. |
| Expere Engine: Case sensitivity behavior enhanced |
|---|
|
| Summary: Product matching logic in Expere Engine has been updated to disregard case sensitivity when values differ between that of the Expere transaction and Default Data. |
| Expere: iText9 upgrade |
|---|
|
| Summary: The Expere Engine has been updated to use iText9 for PDF rendering. |
| EZTransform2: Transaction Compression and Encoding Support |
|---|
|
| Summary: You can now submit transactions to EZTransform2 as base64-encoded ZIP files, allowing you to transfer larger XML and JSON transactions to Document Generation Services without hitting Salesforce request/response size limitations. |
| Expere Engine: Dynamic Merge PDF Support for CompliEditor Policies |
|---|
|
Summary: Updates were made to support the ability to generate merged
PDF's for CompliEditor. Expere Default Data REST APIs were updated to return an
outputDocumentId for each policy type in the
DefaultData.xml file. |
|
|
|
| Monthly component updates |
|---|
|
Summary: As part of a regular cadence to review and upgrade any items
used with the Expere Engine for security issue and monthly component upgrades,
we have upgraded the following:
Note: No user action is required. |
| WCAG: List Language Tagging Consistency Restored in Tagged PDFs |
|---|
|
Summary: An issue was resolved where <Lbl> and
<LBody> tag tree elements in English content were
incorrectly marked when included in Spanish-language PDFs. These tag tree
elements, along with all <L> tag tree elements, now
correctly display English (en) in the Adobe Acrobat Properties
dialog when right-clicking on the appropriate tag tree element, helping ensure
accessibility standards (WCAG and ADA) are met in generated documents. |
| Expere Engine: Inter Vivos Trust Document Rendering Updated to Prevent DataItem Key Collisions |
|---|
|
| Summary: The rendering logic was updated to resolve key collisions for Trust and Borrower data items in Inter Vivos Trust eNote generation. If trustee and borrower are the same, unique XPath indexing is applied to prevent document rendering errors. |
| What's Changed? Data item key collisions for Trust and Borrower fields were remediated, enabling successful rendering of VA Form 3200 Inter Vivos Trust eNote when trustee and borrower are identical persons. |
| Impact: You can now generate Inter Vivos Trust eNotes in Expere SmartDoc without encountering rendering failures caused by data item XPath collisions. |
