DocViewer: Configuring Transforms.xml and creating/installing the application

This procedure explains the process for installing DocViewer.

Before installing, perform and/or verify the following:

  • DocViewer and TestWebApp must be removed and a clean installation performed.
  • Because the uninstallation does not remove the IIS application or App Pool, the respective folders must be removed manually. Restart IIS.
    Note: The uninstallation process does remove the TestWebApp application, folder, and App Pool.
  1. From \ReleaseFiles\DocViewer\InstallTransformKit folder, access the Transforms.xml file; change all server names to the desired server name or URL. See Appendix: DocViewer Sample Transforms.xml file for more information.
  2. Run run.bat to create the DocViewer installation file (for example: DocViewerInstaller.msi from the InstallTransformKit folder; this name matches the FileName property in the Transforms.xml file) in the Installs folder.
    Note: This installation file is named according to the FileName attribute in the transforms.xml file.
  3. Run the .msi installation file from the Installs folder.
  4. Click any of the checkboxes (recommended: select the default options).
  5. Accept all defaults and click Install.
