The product attribute can be used with virtually any element within the DITA markup language. InfoDev uses the product attribute to indicate that the content within the element is usable for a specific product.
When product attributes are used and the Transformation Scenario has been configured correctly, the resulting output during transformation will include those items that match the desired product.
