For many years, Wisconsin had its own state rules that limited a consumer’s liability after an unauthorized transfer to $50. In 2014, Wisconsin changed its rules to mirror the federal rules. (See 2013 Wisconsin Act 136.) In other words, although Wisconsin has its own state rules, they are now identical to the Regulation E rules we described in this section.
