Installation Process Overview

Outline of the steps involved in installing Document Generation Services and all pertinent components.

This section provides a high-level overview of the Document Generation Services (DGS) installation process.

Note: It is assumed that the user has advanced knowledge of Windows operating systems and servers.

Installation Process

  1. Fulfilling prerequisites
  2. Working and installing Security Administration certificates
  3. Security Administration: configuring Transforms.xml and creating/installing the application
  4. Proceed with Octoplus Deploy database and application installation process
  5. Using Security Administration
  6. Expere Engine: configuring Transforms.xml and creating/installing the application
  7. Document Generation Services: configuring Transforms.xml and creating/installing components
  8. DocViewer: configuring Transforms.xml and creating/installing the application
  9. Document Generation Services Core: configuring Transforms.xml and creating/installing the component
  10. Document Generation Services Core DocViewer: configuring Transforms.xml and creating/installing the component
  11. Deploying content in the Management Service

Provided with this installation guide

The following folder are located in the Release Files location on your Document Generation Services release media:

  • DoGenServices: contains the InstallTransformKit and Transforms.xml file used for installing and configuring Document Generation Services.
  • Documentation: contains a ReadMe.txt file with webhelp URL.
  • DocViewer: contains the InstallTransformKit and Transforms.xml file used for installing and configuring DocViewer.
  • Expere: contains the InstallTransformKit and Transforms.xml file used for installing and configuring Expere Wildfly.
  • ExpereEZConfig: contains the InstallTransformKit and Transforms.xml file used for installing and configuring ExpereEZConfig.
  • Samples: contains access to the DGS_SampleApplication.zip file.
  • STS: contains the Transforms.xml file used when installing and configuring Security Administration.
  • Upgrade: contains the UpdateRequirements.ps1 file.
