Assigning an Owner
Overview
If a view was created and shared by a user who was later removed from the system (e.g. A user left the organization), the view will continue to be available with a No Owner label. In this scenario, the shared view will be available and can be maintained by any user who previously received the view and has the Share Views permission. The user will now have access to the Assign owner action and can select a new owner.Assigning an Owner to the Shared View
- Select the shared view with the No Owner label.
Note: The Assign owner action displays in the list after selecting the view. - Select a user to assign as an owner for the view.
Note: Only users with the Share Views permission will display in the list. Search is available to quickly find a specific user. A shared view can only have a one owner.Note: The selected user will become the new owner of the view. In the example above, the view will now be owned by Moira, and the view will display in her Personal Views section.- All previous share settings are retained.
- All recipients will now see Moira as the newowner of the view.
- If the original owner is re-activated , the owner will be
reinstated as an owner of the shared view along with the
current owner.
