Why did the Escrow Per Payment Amount change by one penny after the August 2018 update?

A new calculation engine was incorporated into ComplianceOne mortgage to account more precisely for values that include fractional cents. For example, the monthly escrow value now rounds to the nearest penny (rather than simply truncating odd cents). RESPA does not discuss how payments are to be rounded, so either approach is acceptable.

For transactions where the Loan Estimate was provided before the change (or if you are re-disclosing a Closing Disclosure), you may need to explain that the adjusted figures are based on new logic that rounds the monthly payment amount.
