On a variable rate transaction, how is the initial rate ceiling determined?

The initial rate ceiling is calculated by adding the initial rate cap (if applicable) to the initial rate. For example, an initial rate of 3.25% plus an initial rate cap of 2.00% will result in an initial rate ceiling of 5.25%.
