Inheriting a Role

The roles of a parent organization can be inherited by the children, providing easy role creation of child organizations.

Note:
  • Custom roles can still be created after this feature is enabled for an organization.
  • Previously created roles are not removed or overwritten when Inherit Roles is enabled.
  • All custom roles remain with the child organization after Inherit Roles is disabled.

To inherit a role:

  1. From the Navigation menu, select ROLES.
    The Roles page is displayed.

  2. Locate the desired child organization. For this example, Vesstar RE is used (see above).
  3. Select Inherit Roles.
    The child organization displays the change by including the roles from the parent. In the example below, Vesstar RE displays the inherited roles from the Vesstar parent.

    Note:
    • Roles that are inherited are listed first in the child organization roles.
    • Inherited roles are identified in the role title with *Inherited from <Organization Name>. In the example above, the title of the three inherited roles include *Inherited from Vesstar.
