Inheriting Policies

The policies of a parent organization can be inherited by the children.

This provides easy policy creation of child organizations.
Note:
  • Custom policies can still be created after this feature is enabled for an organization.
  • Previously created policies are not removed or overwritten when Inherit Policies is enabled.
  • All custom policies remain with the child organization after Inherit Policies is disabled.

To inherit policies:

  1. From the Navigation menu,click POLICIES.
    The Policies page is displayed.

  2. Locate the desired child organization.
    For this example, Vesstar RE is used (see above).
  3. Select Inherit Policies.
    The child organization displays the change by including the policies from the parent. In the example below, Vesstar RE displays the inherited policies from the Vesstar parent.

    Note:
    • Policies that are inherited are listed first in the child organization policies.
    • Inherited policies are identified in the policy title with *Inherited from <Organization Name>. In the example above, the title of the three inherited policies include *Inherited from Vesstar.
