Copying a Policy

The features of an existing policy can be copied to a new policy in order to quickly create a new similar policy.

For this example, a policy will be copied for the fictitious Vesstar Financial Retail East company.
Note: You cannot copy a policy across organizations.

To copy a policy:

  1. From the Navigation menu, click POLICIES.
    The Policies page is displayed.

  2. Locate and hover over the policy you wish to use as the source policy.
In the example above, 504 Standard is selected from the Vesstar RE organization.
  3. Click + COPY.
The Policy Pop-up window is displayed.

The window is already populated with the existing policy's features.
Note: The name of the policy is appended at the beginning with the text Copy of. You cannot create a policy with the exact same name as an existing policy. Attempting to do so will result in the following message.

  4. Change the POLICY NAME to reflect the features of the new policy.
For our example, the Policy Name is changed to 504 Std w/ Loan Agreement.

  5. Make the desired changes to the policy settings.
In the above example, the Use SBA Loan Agreement option was selected.
  6. When all desired changes have been made, click SAVE.
The new policy is created and the Policies page is displayed with the new policy.

    Note the following:
    • The copied policy is considered a non-inherited policy.
    • If the associated organization has child organizations, the copied policy will be available to them as an inherited policy.
