What is the purpose of a template?

The purpose of a template is to save the loan processor or loan officer time by storing standard information in a reusable form. For each template field, you can preset information as a default. You should consider how many fields are beneficial to preset with information.

Before you begin creating your templates, you should consider the purpose of each template. For optimal use, you should design templates for the type of transactions and applications that you most frequently process. The template pages closely resemble transaction pages including the ability to switch from the application phase to the closing phase. The final result should be a template that needs additional information in the blank fields – but not a great deal of changes or deletions in the preset fields.
