Creating a DITAVAL

  1. Open InfoDev DITA Tools and click the Ditaval Creator button.
    The DITAVAL Creator page is displayed, providing access to information should you need to learn more about Ditavals.

  2. Enter the path and name of the ditaval file in the Location and Name of ditaval file text box.
    Note: To browse for a folder on your computer, click the associated Browse button. Don't forget to append the filename to your selection.
  3. Click Add Filter.
    The Add Attribute to Filter dialog is displayed.

  4. If choosing to select a product attribute, select the Include or Exclude option under the Product section. Then select the desired product from the Product list.
  5. If choosing to select an audience attribute, select the Include or Exclude option under the Audience section. Then select the desired audience from the Audience list.
  6. Click Add Filter.
    The selected filter criteria is added to the Ditaval Wizard screen.

  7. When finished including and excluding attributes, click Create Ditaval >.
    When the ditaval is successfully created, a message box appears informing you of the creation and the Ditaval Wizard displays the options to either open the ditaval in the default application (most likely Oxygen) or to display it in Windows Explorer.
