This function allows system administrators to review the current status of clients through the use of the Onsite tool.
Onsite has an option under the Reporting tab as below:
This option allows Onsite to register with the SDX database and provide feedback of its connection status and package information, which then can be viewed in here in Administration. The page refreshes every minute.
Onsite has a polling mechanism (ping) that communicates with SDX to indicate that the client is reachable and that there is a connection so that packages may be sent. Pings are set to 5 minutes by default.
Once an Onsite client is started, it is registered on SDX and will then show up in the list. The color of the icon indicates the status of the client.
If Onsite is shut down, it sends a command to SDX to deregister.- Blue – Onsite client has registered and the server has received the last ping
- Grey – Onsite is offline (deregistered)
- Red – Onsite is registered but SDX has not received the last expected ping. This could be due to Onsite crashing perhaps or the internet connection between the two has failed.
Clicking the icons themselves displays the details of the Onsite client.
