Organization Setup

The following is a summaryof how to work with Organizations:

§  After loggingin, you are presentedwith a tree view of the OPPSA organization hierarchy. The tree structure makes it easier to see how organizations relate to one another.

§  Each user is only able to see the hierarchy for the organization to which they are defined.

§  You can move your cursor over a node in the tree to view or delete the organization, or add a child organization.

§  If an organization has a significant numberof child nodes it may be difficult to read the node names because OPPSA displays all visiblenodes after login.Use the slider at the lower right of the screen to zoom in on the display. After zooming in, you can click next to a node and scroll the tree across the screen, if necessary.

§  Once you have chosen to view an organization, you are only able to see objectsat the selected organization level and above. You can only edit objects at the selectedorganization level. Objects definedat a higher organization can be viewedor copied, but not modified.

§  Choosing the Cancel orSave buttons in the bottomright of the screenapplies to changesmade on the Name and Address, Charter and Indexestabs. After selectingeither of these options, you are returned to the organization tree, where you will see the same organizations at the        time of your initiallogin.

§  A limitation of the previous (non-Silverlight) versionsof OPPSA was the organization legal name had to be unique acrossOPPSA organizations. This restriction no longer exists;different branch officesmay have different OPPSA settings, but still want the same legal name to print on the documents. The Short Name fieldis now the unique identifier. The Short Name is the value that displays in the organization tree and in the Testing System. The Short Name does not print on the documents.

NOTE: You can have only one root or top-levelorganization. All other organizations are subordinate to the root. Multiple top-level organizations are not allowed.

The first time you use OPPSA, you will see only the root organization with nothing below it. You can add children below the root, each node representing a branch, a department, or the organizational structure of your choice. Each node can support multiple sub-nodes as required to define your organizational structure.

You will need to enter specific information defining each node, including the root. Detailed information such as the institution charter, address and usury are required before the organizations can be used in transactions.

NOTE: Move your cursorover the organization under which to createa child. Click New. See Creatingan Organization for more information.
