To Add the eSig Fields to a Signature Are

In the SignatureSection where eSignatures are needed, there are elements that need to be added to “turn on” the eSignatures.

Note: These elements can be added in any order, although Requirements Editor may put them in “its” chosen order. For ease of presentation, each element will be addressed as a separate step. The first image below is the common SignatureSection for buyers and shows the elements that are required for eSignature and are usually already in the SignatureSection. The second image below shows the top and bottom of the ADDITIONAL elements that are needed for eSignature.

With the Signature element selected, right-click and add the Child Element Type. The options are either Signature or Initials. Most of the time you will want the Signature option, which is shown below (blue boxes). The second image below is an example of when Initials was selected.
With the Signature element selected, right-click and add the Child Element SignerRole. This element has a scrolling list to select from.
If you select Other as the SignerRole, you will need to add the SignerRoleOtherDescription. SignerRoleOtherDescription cannot have an underscore in it (_). The underscore character is not available when eSignature is in place.
With the Signature element selected, right-click and add the Child Element SignerRoleSequence. This can be a value or a rule (DTA). This is the order this role should be in the signing sequence. For example, perhaps the Lender should sign before the borrower(s) are asked to sign; the Lender could be SignerRoleSequence 1 and the Borrower could be SignerRoleSequence 2. In our example we used the SignerRoleSequence as a value of S1.
With the Signature element selected, right-click and add the Child Element SignerIdentifier. This can be a value or a rule (DTA). This is used to identify this signer across all documents. In our example we used the Rule that is the name of the signer.
With the Signature element selected, right-click and add the Child Element SignerSignatureSequence. This can be a value or a rule (DTA). This is the order this signer should sign a document if the signer is on the document more than once. This can be set to 1 if the signer only appears for one signature area on the document. In our example we used a value of 2.
With the Signature element selected, right-click and add the Child Element SignatureRequired. This flag can be true or false. If you want the signature to be “mandatory” for the document to be complete, this needs to be true, which is what we used in our example.
At this point, the needed elements are in place. Note that this will need to be done for each Signature element in the document where you want to have an eSignature.
