Expere Knowledge Base

The Expere Knowledge Base is the intellectual property of Wolters Kluwer Financial Services, the most experienced and knowledgeable national provider in compliance research, tracking, and business translation. The Expere Knowledge Base has been built on knowledge gained over five decades of market intelligence and industry experience dealing with thousands of regulatory changes each year.

Legal monitoring and legal analysis are performed by Wolters Kluwer Financial Services’ compliance specialists (primarily attorneys and compliance analysts) who monitor changes in laws and regulations in all 50 state jurisdictions, the District of Columbia, and at the federal level to assess potential implications for the content of Wolters Kluwer Financial Services documents, their data requirements, business rules, styles, and formatting.

The Expere Knowledge Base is based on a flexible data model that is designed to manage many different content components to deliver compliance integrity. The Expere Knowledge Base contains compliance language, graphics, rules (e.g., selection and assembly rules), stylesheets, and certain standard transactional data as discrete objects in the data model.

The business rules that govern the selection and assembly of documents by the Expere Document Engine are driven by data. This data is supplied to the Expere Document Engine’s selection and assembly facility as an XML document referred to as the transaction data. Transaction data may be supplemented with Default Data and Policy Data values. Default Data is the Expere Knowledge Base term for information that is used across multiple documents and transactions. Policy Data rules are driven by transaction characteristics, such as the applicable law state or the type of loan and can also insert data values unconditionally. When the data is used for document selection and assembly it must be in a single XML document and that document must be valid according to an XML transaction schema.

Every Expere Knowledge Base document is authored to use data from either the ExpereTXN or VMPMISMO transaction schemas. Documents authored in one transaction schema cannot directly use data from the other transaction schema. Instead the incoming transaction data must be transformed to the document’s schema.

Expere Knowledge Base documents are packaged by line of business. The mortgage line of business is authored to accept data valid against the VMPMISMO schema. All other lines of business are authored to accept data valid against the ExpereTXN schema.
