Static content is authored with specific text in a fixed (layout-driven) design. Data fields are added to pages of the document in a fixed position; if the same data is required in more than one place, the data field is positioned in each of those places. Data populates the data fields at runtime and any discrepancy between transaction data received and the properties of the fixed data fields is handled by overflow rules including overflow to a target (an addendum, for example), truncate text, and reduce font size. Static documents may include some or all of the following features:
Typical static documents include credit insurance applications, title applications, UCC filing documents, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FA, and VHA forms.
In contrast to the fixed language and layout of static, dynamic content is authored to produce documents based on transaction data. For instance, if a document had ten variations based on jurisdiction, a dynamic file could contain language for all ten jurisdictions and the document would be assembled based on the jurisdiction received in the transaction data.

Wolters Kluwer Financial Services commonly delivers packages that are subsets of a line of business based on transaction lifecycle state (e.g., Application or Closing). For example, the following packages existed in recent releases of the Expere Knowledge Base
