The following sections list the minimum hardware and software requirements to install and run the Expere Authoring Tools: the Requirements and Content Editor and I-32 Design Tool. The Expere Authoring Tools are installed with an embedded Document Engine to provide the necessary document generation functionality for non-production outputs.
Note: If the DocViewer application is used with the authoring tools, see the DocViewer requirements as part of the overall Expere Engine and Content (Tools) requirements.
The Expere Authoring Tools environment requires a Microsoft SQL Server database management system. For optimal performance, it is suggested that content be stored and loaded from a database. In an authoring tool configuration, only Microsoft SQL Server is supported and it can be installed on Windows 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.
