Important: Java 8 is now supported on embedded versions of the Requirements Editor and Expere .NET. Support for Java 7 ended in April 2015.
The following requirements apply to all supported Java-based environments.
Expere Engine Supported Java Operating Systems
The Expere Engine is available for use on the following Java-based operating systems.
- AIX 6.1
- Red Hat Linux Enterprise versions supported by Oracle and IBM WebSphere
Expere Engine Supported Java Databases
The Expere Engine is available for use with the following databases.
- Oracle 12g
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (Express, Standard and Enterprise)
Other Required Software Within the Java Environment
- WebSphere 7.0 or 8.5.5: IBM WebSphere Application Server provides the runtime environment for Java applications and servers.
Note: Java 1.7 is only supported with WebSphere Application Server 8.5.5; however, it can be configured to use versions 1.6 or 1.7
- JBoss 4.2.3 or 5.0.1: JBoss provides the runtime environment for Java applications and services.
Note: Currently, Expere supports Java 1.5 with JBoss 4.2.3 and 5.0.1.
