An environment based on a Windows operating system is acceptable for a .NET-based implementation of the Expere Document Engine. When using a Windows operating system, it is recommended to deploy the Expere Engine and Content (Tools) on a 64-bit system.
Expere Engine Supported Windows Operating Systems
The Expere Engine is available for use on the following Windows operating systems.
- Windows 7 64-bit (x64)
- Windows 8 64-bit (x64)
- Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit (x64)
- Windows Server 2012 R2 64-bit (x64)
Expere Engine Supported Windows Databases
The Expere Engine is available for use with the following Windows based databases.
- Oracle 12g
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (Express, Standard and Enterprise)
- Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (Enterprise, Business, and Standard)
Note: Contact your implementation consultant about deployments using a different edition of SQL Server than those specified here. File system options not requiring a database component are available. Contact your implementation consultant for details.
Other Required Software Within the Windows Environment
- .NET Framework 4: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 is required for the Document Engine, Content Administration Tool, and OPPSA. It is installed as part of the Content Administration Tool installation program.
- Saxon: Embedded versions of Expere .NET and the Requirements Editor have been upgraded to use Saxon.
