Steps 1 - 7 apply to Admin Console instances that do not currently require a username and password for access.
- Open the Admin Console.
- Select Security > Global security.
- Select Security Configuration Wizard.
- Check Enable application security.
- Select Local operating system.
- For the primary administrative user name: enter the name of a user that currently exists on the server hosting WebSphere.
- Click Finish.
- Restart your server. The following steps apply regardless of whether your Admin Console was secured previously.
- From Security/Global security/Authentication select Web and SIP security.
- Select General settings.
- Select the Authenticate when any URI is accessed option.
- Click OK.
- Save your changes.
- Stop and restart your WebSphere instance
