Creating a Survey

This procedure explains how to associate and create a survey to your existing hosted documentation.

  1. Within PubAssist FTP, select a profile from the Profile list.
  2. Perform one of the following:
    Choice Description
    Menu From the menu: select Tools > Survey Creator.
    Toolbar From the Profiles toolbar: click the Create Product Surveys button.
    Context Menu Right-click a profile and select Survey Creator.
    The Survey Creator panel is displayed.

    Note: Notice that the text at the top of the blue section verifies the selected profile.
  3. Select Staging Server, Production Server or both.
  4. Select the number of questions from the trackbar (slider) located at the top of the Questions group. Up to 10 questions can be inserted into a survey.
    Note: Optionally, you can select the Default survey option to automatically create and populate the survey with the default questions.
  5. Enter the questions in the text boxes and select the type of response you would like for each question.
    Note: Each response type displays a drop list in the survey.

    • You can reset the form by clicking the green Reset button located at the top of the Questions group.
    • The Default survey option can be selected at any time to create or recreate the standard questions.
  6. Click Create.
    You are presented with a completion dialog when the survey is successfully created.

    The survey.php file is installed in the selected documentation folder.

    Note: Verify the ribbon is available by viewing your documentation in the browser as usual.
