Impact Analysis Spreadsheet
Each time you generate an Impact Analysis Report, an associated Impact Analysis spreadsheet is also
generated and placed in the same Reports folder as the Impact Analysis & User
Decision Report.
Note:
- The folder containing the Impact Analysis spreadsheet is opened automatically after the report is generated.
- The Reports folder is located in the same folder that was created during the New Merge Session procedure.
- The file name of the Impact Analysis report has a structure of
[Merge_Session_Name]_ImpactAnalysis_Date Time.xlsx.
For example, if your Merge Session is named "2020.09_R4.59_Final", the file
name for the report would be
2020.09_R4.59_Final_ImpactAnalysis_12-05-2022
18-21-30.xlsx.
In this example, 12-5-2022 indicates a date of December 5, 2022 and a time of 6:21:30 PM (H:M:S).
- The XML file has the same structure as the spreadsheet; 2020.09_R4.59_Final_ImpactAnalysis.xml.
Column Headers
- Red column title: indicates a customer input
- Green column title: indicates a ProServ input
- Column headers are locked to always be visible with scrolling.
- Filtering is enabled in order to display only the desired content.
The spreadsheet contains the following tabs (worksheets).
| Tab | Description |

| Conflicts | Contains the information at a REQ level in the context of any
changes made. All columns except Base Change Summary, WK PBI#, Recommendation, CustomerName Notes, and CustomerName Decisions have information from the merge session to be completed. |
| Auto Resolved | Contains all items that have been auto resolved during the Merge process. |
| Deleted and Orphaned Documents | Contains all documents that have been orphaned or deleted during the merge process. |
| New and Invalidated Documents | Contains all documents that are new or invalidated for the merge process. |
| Docs with Frozen ConRefs | Contains a list of all documents that contain frozen content references. This spreadsheet contains three columns that display 1) the associated Organization, 2) the document containing the frozen content reference, and 3) any CustomerName notes. |
| Require Mapping | Contains the information about ChangeBlocks that could not be
mapped and require manual mapping. All columns except Base Change
Summary have information from the merge session to be completed. Note: This worksheet is added to the Impact Analysis
report only if non-mapped ChangeBlocks are present. |
| Resolved Large Change Blocks | Contains a list of resolved large change blocks. This tab contains three columns: Document, Change Block Number, and Location. |
| Content Item Diffs | Provides a list of all files from the Content Items Diffs merge tab and their statuses. |
| Summary Tab | Provides a list of all comments (Merge Notes) identified within the REQ files. |
The Conflicts, Deleted and Orphaned Documents and New and Invalidated Documents
sheets contain the following information:
- Incoming Release: provided during the setup of the repository merge
- Existing Release: provided during the setup of the repository merge
- Organization: The organization associated with the merge session.
- Document: The document in question being reported.
The remaining columns in each sheet provide contextual information on the issue of the document in question.
Empty Transactions
Empty transactions are indicated under the Change Block Tab column when an empty transaction has been merged from a Default Data REQ file.
Summary Tab
The Summary tab contains information from the New Merge Session window. This includes
all settings from that window including the Packages tab settings as well as the
Requirements Editor version, as shown in the following example.
