Expere Engine Installation

Prerequisites: Before installing the Expere Engine:

  • Ensure the target computer has the prerequisite components installed and meets the system requirements defined in System Requirements.
Important: There are two variations of the Expere Engine file; ExpereEngineFOP.msi and ExpereEngineXEP.msi.
    • ExpereEngineFOP.msi contains the FOP rendering engine.
    • ExpereEngineXEP.msi contains both the XEP and FOP rendering engines.

This topic describes how to install the Expere Engine using the default installation. The default installation installs the engine to the default location and does not provide any options to select additional components. This example installs the FOP edition of the Expere Engine (ExpereEngineFOP.msi). While the procedure below illustrates the installation of the FOP version of the Expere Engine, the procedure for the XEP version is identical.

  1. Navigate to the ExpereEngine folder on the CD or location of the installation files on the target machine. Install directly from the Expere Authoring CD (\\ExpereEngine folder) Copy the installation file (ExpereEngineFOP.msi) to a folder on the target machine.
  2. Double-click the desired .msi file to begin the installation process. The installation interface is displayed.

  3. Select the valid license agreement option and then select Install. The progress is displayed during the installation process.

When the installation is complete, you are notified.

  4. Select Finish.
