About this guide

This guide describes how to install the FOP and XEP versions of the Expere Engine.

The Expere Engine is designed as a single engine to work with all authoring tools (Requirements Editor, Server Tools, etc.). Therefore, you will only be required to install the one engine necessary for your documentation rendering needs - FOP or XEP.

Note: If you uninstall the Expere Engine after both the Expere Engine and the Requirements and Content Editor have been installed, the Requirements and Content Editor application can continue to be used. However, certain features (such as executing a document or executing package rules) require the engine to be installed. These features are disabled in Requirements Editor if the engine is not installed.
