Opening a Saved File

You can open an existing file from the tool bar, the menu, or the keyboard. When you open an SFX file, you will be required to enter the administrative password. The user password is not needed for retrieval in I-32 Forms Design 6. XTemplate files do not require any passwords.

To open a saved file

1. Do one of the following to display the Open Form dialog:

  • Click on the tool bar.

  • Open the File menu and select Open.

  • Press + .

2. Select the type of file you want to open—SFX Document or XTemplate Document—from the Files of type drop-down list.

3. Find the file you want to open and do one of the following:

  • Double-click on the file name.

  • Highlight the file name and click to open the file.

4. If you are opening an SFX file, the Authentication dialog will appear before the file is opened:

  • Enter the administrative password for the file. The password will appear in asterisks.

  • Click to open the file.

To open a recently used file

1. Open the File menu.

2. Find the file you want to open in the list at the bottom of the menu:

3. Click on the file name to open the file.

4. If you are opening an SFX file, the Authentication dialog will appear before the file is opened:

  • Enter the administrative password for the file.

  • Click to open the file.
