Circle Fields
Circle fields can be used to circle one option from a list of choices or to circle all options that apply:

They require a data ID and description but they have line and color properties like a shape. The text of the choice associated with a circle field is placed in a text box and positioned inside the circle field. It is not part of the circle field object.
To add circle fields, data fields must be activated. If the
button is
not pushed in on the Activate tool bar, click on it to activate data fields.
Note:
Circle fields are not available in 5.1 compatibility mode.
To create a circle field
1. Click
on the tool bar. The mouse pointer will change to
.
2. Place the + of the mouse pointer at the place where you want to begin your circle field.
3. Hold the left mouse button down and drag the mouse to draw the circle field. The field will appear as a rectangle at first:

To draw a circle instead of an elliptical field, press
while you draw the field.
4. When the circle field is the size you want, release the mouse button and you will see the circle:

To set field properties for circle fields
1. Click on the Field tabin the property pane:

2. Enter the data ID and description for the circle field:

To create the text box for a circle field
1. Deactivate data fields and activate text boxes.
2. Draw a text box inside the circle field and type the option that can be selected:

If you prefer, you can create your text items first and the circle fields afterwards.
Note:
You can also draw circle fields around images, so, if it is appropriate, you can represent your choices with images.
To change the color of the circle
1. Click on the circle field and display the Object property page:

2. Click the
in the Color value field under Line to
display the Color dialog.
3. Select the color you want for the circle.
4. After you choose your color, click .
Note:
The above instructions only change the color of the circle that is drawn. It does not change the color of the circle field shading.
To change the line style
1. Click on the circle field and display the Object property page.
2. Click on the Style value field in the Line property group. A

appear.
3. Click the
and select the line style you want from the list:

4. Click anywhere on the screen to see your results.
Important:
When selecting a line style, make sure you do not select Transparent. If the line style is set to Transparent, the circle will not appear on the form when the field is selected.
To change the thickness of a solid line
1. Click on the circle field.
2. Select Solid as the line style.
3. Click on the Thickness value field underneath Line to display the
.
4. Click
to display thedrop-down list and select the thickness you want:

To apply a custom thickness
1. Select Custom from the Thickness value drop-down list. The Measure property will appear below Thickness:

2. Click on the Measure value field. The value in the field will be highlighted.
3. Enter the line thickness you want.
4. Press
or click anywhere on the screen to see your result.
