Selecting Text for Font Formatting

Before you can apply font attributes, you need to select the text you want to apply the for­matting to. You can apply font formatting to data fields, all text in a text box, all text in a system text box, and inline data fields. You can also apply formatting to blocks of text within a text box. You cannot select blocks of text in a system text box because you cannot edit the text. How you select your text depends on the text you want to format.

To apply font formatting to all text in a text box or to a system text box

1. Select the tool.

2. Click on the text box you want to select. To apply the same font formatting to more than one text box, hold down and select the others.

If you are editing text in the text box you want to select, just press .

To apply font formatting to selected text in a text box

1. Click on the or press + to select the text editing tool or double-click in the text box.

2. Highlight the text you want to format with your mouse.

To apply font formatting to a data field or inline data field

1. Select the tool.

2. Click on the field you want to format.

3. To format more than one field at once, hold down and select the others.

Note:

You can apply font formatting to both text boxes and data fields at the same time. Just hold down and select your objects with the .

Important:

When you format all text in a text box, all text, including inline data fields, will be changed to that font. If you want to format inline data fields or selected text in a different font, be sure to apply the font formatting to the text box as a whole first. Then apply the formatting to selected text and inline data fields.
