Opening and Closing Dictionaries

In order to use a user dictionary during a spell check, you must open it. If you do not want a dictionary to be used during a spell check, you must close it. Closing a dictionary does not remove it from the system. It only makes it unavailable during the spell check. If you want to use the dictionary again later, all you need to do is reopen it.

To open a dictionary

1. Open the Tools menu and select Options to open the Options dialog.

2. Click on the Workspace tab. The Dictionaries dialog will appear.

3. Click . The AddDictionary File dialog will appear:

4. Double-click on the dictionary file you want to open.

5. Click to close the Dictionaries dialog. You will return to the Options dialog.

6. Click to close the Options dialog.

To close a dictionary

1. Open the Tools menu and select Options to open the Options dialog.

2. Click on the Workspace tab. The Dictionaries dia­log will appear.

3. Select the dictionary file you want to close from the Files list box.

4. Click . The file will be removed from the list.

5. Click to close the Dictionaries dialog. You will return to the Options dialog.

6. Click to close the Options dialog.
