Creating Default Grid Settings

If you generally use the same grid settings for most of your forms, you can change the global default settings so that your usual settings will be applied initially to all new forms. You will still be able to override them for forms where you need different settings.

To set grid defaults

1. Open the Tools menu and select Options to display the Options dialog.

2. Click the New Form Defaults tab.

3. Set your grid settings as follows:

  • Click the radio button for the grid you want to define (Grid 1 or Grid 2).

  • Click in the Style field and select Lines or Dots for the grid display.

  • If you selected Lines, enter the line fre­quency in the Frequency value field. 1 will dis­play every grid line. 2 will display every other line, and 3, every third, etc.

  • In the Columns per [unit of measure] field, enter the number of columns (vertical grid lines) per unit of measure you want for your grid.

  • In the Rows per [unit of measure] field, enter the number of rows (horizontal grid lines) per unit of measure you want your grid to have.

4. Click to close the Options dialog.
