Using a Data Dictionary with Arrayed Data
If your company uses a global data dictionary and it is set up to work with arrayed data, you can map your arrayed data fields. When you map a field to an arrayed data element, it will automatically be defined as arrayed data.
To map an arrayed data field
1. Select the data fields in the array and right-click to display the context menu:

2. Select Map from the context menu to display the Data Dictionary dialog.
3. Click on the’s to expand the tree until you find the category where your field should be located.
4. Select the field from the list. If it is an arrayed data field, its data dimension will be displayed in the dialog box. For first-dimension arrays, make sure it has a dimension of 1.

. The Data Dimension will be placed in the property pages for the selected
fields, in addition to any other field information that is stored in the dictionary:

6. If the number of characters and number of lines are not stored in the dictionary, enter the correct number of characters and number of lines.
7. Enter the correct data index for each field in the array.
Note:
You can also enter the index for individual fields in the Data Dictionary dialog box.
