Resizing Objects with the Keyboard

You can also resize objects with the keyboard. When you use the keyboard keys with Snap to Grid on, sizing is based on the grid increments. When Snap to Grid is off, sizing is based on small, predefined increments.

To resize objects with the keyboard

1. Select the object you want to resize.

2. Press and hold it down.

3. With pressed, press the arrow keys to resize the object. Each time you press an arrow key, the object will increase or decrease in size:

  • Press to increase the width.

  • Press to decrease the width.

  • Press to increase the height.

  • Press to decrease the height.

To resize lines with the keyboard

1. Select the line you want to resize.

2. Press and hold it down.

3. With pressed, press the arrow key that stretches the line in the direction you want:

  • On a horizontal line, and move the right sizing handle horizontally.

  • On a vertical line, and move the lower sizing handle vertically.

Note:

Because only horizontal and vertical movement is available with the arrow keys, the angle of any line that is not horizontal or vertical will change as it is stretched.
