Inserting Images

Images are used for logos and other special graphic enhancements (such as icons). They can be inserted into your form and resized much like other objects. I-32 Forms Design supports the following standard image formats: BMP, TIF, JPG, GIF, and PNG.

To insert an image, images must be activated. When images are activated, on the Activate tool bar looks like it is pushed in:

If the is not pushed in, you will need to activate images before you can use the image tool.

You can set a default directory for your images. Then, whenever you insert an image, you will automatically go to the default directory. If you keep your images grouped in subfolders in a master directory, set your default to the master directory.

To activate images

Click on the on the Activate tool bar. The button will remain pushed in and your image tool will be activated.

1. Open the View menu and select Activate.

2. Select Images from the Activate sub menu.

To set your default image directory

1. Open the Tools menu and select Options to display the Options dialog.

2. Select the Directories tab.

3. Click on the Location field for the Images file type. A will appear at the right of the field:

4. Click . The Browse for Folder dialog will appear.

5. Select the drive and directory where your image files are located.

6. Click . The drive and directory will appear in the Location list:

To insert an image

1. Click the button on the tool bar. The mouse pointer will change to .

2. Place the + of the pointer at the place where you want to insert your image.

3. Click your mouse and the Open Image dialog appears:

4. If the image is not in the default directory, navigate to the folder where it is located.

5. Double-click on the image file name. The image will be inserted at 100% size.

6. If you cannot see your image because it is too large, click on the tool bar to zoom out. Continue clicking until you can see your entire image.
Note: If you did not set a default directory for images, the Set Default Location dialog box will appear when you click . Click if you want that location as the default or if you do not.

To resize the image

1. Click on the image.

2. Click on one of the corner green sizing handles. The mouse pointer will change to .

3. Hold the left mouse button down and drag the sizing handle until the image is the size you want:

To resize the image proportionally, hold down while you adjust the size.
