Starting Out

To start I-32 Forms Design 6, highlight I-32 Forms Solutions on your Programs menu. Then highlight I-32 Forms Design 6.0 and select I-32 Forms Design 6.0 from the submenu. You will see a blank screen similar to the one below.
Because there is no file loaded, your first screen has a very limited menu and most of the tool buttons are grayed out. To see how it looks when you have a form file loaded, let’s start a new file
  1. Move your mouse pointer to the New button ( ) on the toolbar. Note that a tooltip displays "New". All buttons on the toolbars display a tooltip to remind you of their function.
  2. Click the New button ( ) to create the new file. Your screen will now look similar to the following:
Your screen is divided into three panes.
    1. The upper left pane is called the Form Tree pane. By clicking on one of the two tabs at the bottom of the pane, you can display two different tree views of your form. The FormView tab displays a tree view of your form pages. Currently it has only one page. The DataView tab displays a tree view of your data fields. Right now it is quite empty.
    2. Below the Form Tree pane is the Properties pane. The Properties pane is where you change the attributes of the form and its objects.
    3. The third pane is the Form Display pane. This pane is where you will "draw" your form.
