Introducing I-32 Forms Design 6

I-32® Forms Design 6 is a fully functional WYSIWYG design program that contains all the tools you need for designing multi-page forms for I-32-based applications. It also supports XML-based forms in XTemplate format. Forms in this format are used with an Expere® Document Engine.

Individual form pages can also be exported in either format. They can be used to reassemble forms in I-32 Forms Design 6 or a compatible form packaging tool. This feature also provides backward compatibility with earlier versions of I-32 Forms Design, which operate at page-level and rely on an external packaging application or the form filler software to assemble the form.

I-32 Forms Design 6 Features

I-32 Forms Design 6 is an object-oriented drawing program specifically designed for creating forms. You create your form by drawing and arranging data fields, text boxes, and other objects on your form pages. With the commands and tools available, you can apply attributes such as fill and color, change the font and formatting of your text, and align and size your objects.

What makes I-32 Forms Design 6 unique is the ability to create overlays to supplement the basic form page. Overlays allow you to add logos, signatures, and additional data fields and text to a page, view both the page and the associated overlays on the screen at one time, and print them as one page. Overlays can be exported in either format and applied to any form you create. Because any number of overlays can be created for one base form page, you can easily customize standard basic forms for different clients or applications.

Through I-32 Forms Design 6, you can do the following:
  • Create data fields that can be filled with data in a compatible form filler tool. The data can be read from a database or filled in interactively.
  • Add any amount of text to your form. Text can be anything from short field labels to multi-paragraph “terms and conditions.”
  • Edit and format your text. You can specify text alignment and line spacing, select your fonts, and apply special font attributes.
  • Select the fonts you want your data to appear in and specify the alignment, line spacing, and character spacing.
  • Indent and “dedent” data fields and text boxes to fit them in and around each other.
  • Insert expandable inline data fields into running text.
  • Rotate text in any direction.
  • Create signature fields for capturing signatures electronically.
  • Create circle fields that are used to circle options from a list or group.
  • Draw lines and rectangles directly on the form to add borders and create graphic objects.
  • Add shading, color and pattern attributes to your rectangle-based objects and change the color of your lines and your text and data field fonts.
  • Insert bitmap graphic images and fields for bitmaps that can be read from a file at run time.
  • Insert barcode fields that can be filled with scanable bar codes in the runtime environment.
  • Add tagline form information from data that is stored in the form file (XTemplate forms only).
  • Add automatic page numbering to your form pages.
  • Create floating objects on your overlays so their positions adjust to the margins of the page when the overlay is applied.

I-32 Forms Design 6 also includes numerous positioning aids for aligning your text, data fields and graphics easily and quickly and a flexible, fully functional spell checker. The easy-to-use interface supports both mouse and keyboard editing for maximum efficiency. It also includes global data dictionary support to enable easy selection of field definitions from your predefined global fields.

If you are familiar with previous versions of I-32 Forms Design, you will find that I-32 Forms Design 6 performs all of the same functions as the old versions. It also has a number of enhancements, including a new streamlined user interface that uses property pages instead of dialog boxes for setting your object attributes.

Note: I-32 Forms Design 6 is an ActiveX document server.
